Olympic Knitting

This month we are getting keyed up, the excitement is building, the countdown to the Olympics Opening Ceremony begins. Lets show off our colours to the rest of the world. There is still time to knit a pair of mittens, a hat or a scarf in our national colours-red and white and wear them with pride.

This Saturday February 6th, we will host an Olympic Knit A Long. Learn Intarsia Knitting and make your own red and white mittens with the Maple Leaf design. We will have some trivia fun and one lucky knitter will win a prize. We also have red and white scarf and toque kits and a Maple Leaf Sweater and Earflap Hat kit.

On Saturday February 20th, we will have a Cabled Headband Knit A Long for beginners or anyone who has tried to knit a cable before and wants to learn a shortcut or two. We will make a simple cabled headband, perfect for covering the ears while shovelling snow this month. They knit up so quickly in a rainbow coloured Chunky yarn, you may even have time to make a second one.
