CLUE ONE

Mystery Knit A Long
CLUE ONE

YARN: 1 skein each in 3 colourways of Peppino (merino fingering) by The Yarns of Rhichard Devrieze
NEEDLES: Pair of 3.75 mm or 3.75-80 cm circular
TENSION: 24 sts and 40 rows = 10 cm/4 ins over garter st.

TIP: Choose your boldest colour as C.
Cast on 4 sts in A.
Row 1: K1, kfb, k2 = 5 sts.
Row 2: K1, k2tog, k to last 2 sts, kfb, k1 = 5 sts.
Do not cut A.

Continue working in Ticking Stripe Pattern as follows-
DO NOT carry yarn too tightly along edge of work.

Row 1 (RS): With C, k1, kfb, k to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1.
Row 2 (WS): With C, k to last 2 sts, kfb, k1.
Row 3 (RS): With A, k1, kfb, k to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1.
Row 4 (WS) With A, k to last 2 sts, kfb, k1.
Rep these 4 rows until there are 91 sts on needle, ending with a Row 4.
Cut C.

A nostalgic nod to the ticking stripes of summers past.  Do you remember this cool refreshing look on linens and upholstery?
To be continued.........

Yours truly,
Summer

  1. Hi Michele: Just found your MKAL and will give it a whirl. Saw you were in Bracebridge! My parents from there and their family still there. So it was a nice serendipity to find you.
