AWESOME APRIL

Yay!  Its April... the month that transitions us from a wintry white landscape to a somewhat greener terrain.  We have a lot packed into these thirty days and hopefully the fun activities will get you through to the sunny days of May.

Lets start with the first item on the agenda-

Each month at Muskoka Yarn Connection, we try to feature a 'Muskoka Maker'... someone who creates an outstanding product or service, and is passionate about working with their hands.  Its our way of supporting local business and sharing what we love most about our community.

This month we are featuring Muskoka Soap Box, a home-based business owned and operated by Colleen Nisbet, " I make soap with quality, natural ingredients that uses colour, design, fragrance and botanical elements to create functional art that not only looks beautiful in your soap dish but makes a silky, soft lather that you won’t be able to resist."

Colleen will be here on Friday April 6th from 1 to 3 pm with a SPRING sampling of her scent-sational soap collection. Her soaps are lovingly-crafted from botanical ingredients and truly look good enough to eat!  Drop by and meet Colleen and learn a bit more about the soapmaking process!

If you are looking to branch out from knitting and get hooked on crochet ... we have a really FUN Crochet Basket Workshop happening on Saturday April 14th from 1 to 3 pm.  Ideal for beginners and those who want to refresh their crochet skill set, this project is worked in the round (no seams!) in a squishy-soft cotton rope yarn that feels as soft and stretchy as your favorite T shirt.  Its machine washable and comes in two sizes, LITTLE BERTHA and BIG BERTHA. We have more than SIX fashionable shades to choose from including Aqua and Woodberry (shown below). This exclusive pattern is included FREE with your workshop fee.
Please contact the shop to sign up.

On Saturday April 21st, we will be celebrating LYS Day. Its an inaugural event designed to support your Local Yarn Store and offer knitters, crocheters, and fibre enthusiasts an opportunity to come together and share in a close-knit community.
We have a fun-filled day planned with a MAKE n TAKE WORKSHOP, plus a 20% discount on yarns, and a preview of OUR newest samples, yarns and accessories for SPRING. Bring a friend or bring a WIP and join in our knitting social.
BE  inspired ....
BE creative ....
