MKAL Yours Truly, Summer

If you were to receive a postcard from s-u-m-m-e-r on a blustery winter day, what would it say? Would it remind you of your favorite memories from summers past?  Take part in our Mystery Knit A Long and recapture the most fleeting season of all in a beautiful knitted shawl to keep you warm throughout the chilly days to come.

Choose one skein each in three colorways of Peppino from The Yarns of Rhichard Devrieze, handpainted fingering weight merino that you feel drawn to and reminds you of summer.
Follow along as we release a series of four clues-

CLUE 1: July 30th
CLUE 2: August 13th
CLUE 3: August 27th
CLUE 4: September 10th

To get ready for our July 30th kick off, wind your three skeins of Peppino and check your tension on 3.75 mm/ US 5 needles.
Tension: 24 sts and 40 rows = 10cm/4 ins over garter stitch.

Each clue will be posted right here.
A photo of the finished project must be submitted by the last day of summer- September 23rd, 2015 to be eligible to win one of three grand prizes drawn at random. Please post project color choices, progress pics and finished pics here-

Yours Truly,
Summer

  1. Is it ok if I don't use the recommended yarn for this project? My nearest store that sells it is 5 hours away.

    1. you can use whichever yarn gives you the correct gauge, for the prizes upon completion however, the project must be made wit the suggested yarn to be entered in the random draw.

  6. Hi, I have been having fun with your 'Yours Truly Summer'. I've taken great liberties with the yarns and instead of doing the pinstripes, because I've used two variegated yarns of similar colorways, I've done bands. Anyway as soon as I finish I'll post a picture so you can see what I've done. But I am on Row 19 and can't understand what to do. I've looked at picot tutorials but none I've found can explain to me what to do next. I've cast on the 5 knitted stitches, but this..., slip first 5 sts over the last cast on st, confuses me. Is there a tutorial for this picot? Help. I'm so frustrated. Thanks for you help. Anyone? You can message me on Ravelry I'm MaineSqueeze there. Thanks!
