tea for two

The rain continues.......... one customer stated her boat has not left the dock but her knitting needles are flying. A good time to catch up on old projects, clean out the wool cupboard and line up some great new projects for Christmas gift giving.

This month, Muskoka Yarn Connection features 10 quick knit projects- yoga socks, pedicure socks, a lovely mulberry/merino tam, Poems rainbow socks, a cable skull cap in organic alpaca, two unique neck warmers in softly textured yarns, a strawberry tea cosy, a cable toque in alpaca with silk and last but not least- baby booties to knit and felt in one evening, the perfect shower gift.

Saturday is the start of our annual summer exhibit- Tea For Two features a collection of whimsical handknit tea cosies. Some are designed with a quirky sense of humour and others are traditional favorites with a modern twist. Tea For Two runs from August 1st to the 15th.

Happy Knitting!

July 21, 2009

Fall yarns are due to arrive any day now. It is the lull between seasons in the knitting world, too late to knit up Summer samples, and too early to knit the Fall samples. I am waiting on pins and needles for the new luscious shades and textures to appear at the door.

Our first felted bear workshop went very well on the weekend. Stay posted for our next scheduled date in August. Tuesday evening knit workshops are going stronger than ever this summer, due to rainy weather and cool temps. When the weather fails us we can just sit and knit.
